Managing Your Diet to Keep Lupus in Control
Patients with lupus do better if they follow an 'anti-autoimmune diet,' which means consuming whole foods, rather than processed foods. This means lamb, chicken, or turkey; fish with low mercury content; hormone-free eggs; organic vegetables and fresh fruits; whole grains from gluten-free sources; nuts and seeds; and olive, sesame, and flaxseed oils. It also means avoiding highly processed foods, including preserved bread products, cereals and snacks, preserved meats, and other foods that are often full of chemicals, preservatives, and additives.

Uses of Aloe Products, e.g. Acemannan, in the Treatment of Diseases Requiring Intervention of the Immune System for Cure
Acemannan has been shown to be effective in treating a number of conditions where the principal mechanism of resolution or cure requires intervention by the patient's immune system. Acemannan has direct stimulatory effects on the immune system. In addition, acemannan directly interacts with virus or other infectious organisms, infected cells, and tumor cells to produce changes in their immunologically sensitive surface composition to alter the appearance of these agents and cause them to be recognized by the body's immune system and then destroyed. This document contains 51 examples on research and studies of acemannan for wide range of diseases including lupus (39). A patient with systemic lupus erythematosus was treated by a New York physician with 800 mg/day of oral acemannan. The physician reported that all symptoms diminished and laboratory values markedly improved after 8 weeks of acemannan therapy. Continued acemannan therapy appeared to control the symptoms associated with this patient's condition.
